How do I update my Facebook status using Twitter? Send Tweets automatically to Facebook

Are you a user of Facebook and Twitter? Finding it difficult and/ or quite time consuming to manage your digital presence? Then why not consolidate your digital life stream by letting Twitter do all the work for you and use it as a Facebook status management tool?
(Note: This will mean that the tweets that you post on Twitter will automatically update your Facebook status but not vice versa – i.e. If you update your Facebook status directly in Facebook it will not update your Twitter page. If you want to send your Facebook status updates to Twitter automatically, try fb2twitter.com or Twitterfeed instead. If you are looking for a tool that will update all of your social networking channels, try Ping.fm)
How to sync your Twitter updates with your Facebook status:
- Install the Twitter application for Facebook (You can also access this application by searching for “twitter” within Facebook – it will be the first application on the list, developed by Twitter.)
- Add the application to your Facebook profile
- Log into your Twitter account (via the Twitter application within Facebook)
- Click on “Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status”
You should start to see your tweets update your Facebook status within 30 minutes. If you don’t see the updates try clicking here to ensure that you are allowing status updates from Twitter.
That’s it!
Some other useful applications for managing your Twitter updates:
- Recommended desktop Twitter client: TweetDeck, my personal favourite
- iPhone/ iPod Touch Twitter clients: Twitterrific / Twinkle / Tweetie / Twitterfon

Easily the best of all FB applications!
Two points worth noting – @replies don’t get published to your FB status, which is good. Also, if you tweet a couple of times in rapid succession, they won’t all update FB…

Hi Neil, thanks for the comment.
Absolutely, a very useful FB application.
You’re two points are spot on:
1. Tweets that start with @replies are omitted from the Facebook status update, which is good because your contacts/ friends on Facebook are unlikely to always know who you are replying to and the context. However, You must START a Tweet with an @ reply to have it omitted from Facebook status updates. Thanks to Zack Beatty for the info on this topic: @ replies omitted from status updates.
For example,
“@ nredmond thx for the add” will update your FB status (due to the space between the @ symbol and the Twitter’s username).
“thx for the add @nredmond” will update your FB status.
“@nredmond thx for the add” will not update your FB status.
Also, it’s worth noting that Re-Tweets (for example, “RT @nredmond: New blog post up on the website”) will be updated to your FB status.
2. If you tweet a couple of times in rapid succession not all of your tweets will be updated to your Facebook status. From what I understand, Facebook only checks your Twitter updates every few minutes and some tweets can be lost. Furthermore, Facebook only allows a limited number (they don’t specify what that number is) of updates to your profile per day.
