Who?

My name is Niamh Redmond. I've been online since 2000 and have over 4 year's professional, commercial experience in the design, development and management of digital media.

I've always been interested in communications, design, art and technology. I designed my first comic aged 9, coded my first computer game (using a Commodore 64) aged 11, started experimenting with graphics & multimedia aged 15, built my first website aged 16 & engineered my first digital audio track aged 18... a career in digital media seemed likely!

Work?

I work for ESB International as the in-house Digital Media Designer & Web Manager. ESBI is one of the world's most successful and well-respected contracting and engineering organisations. ESBI has a global reputation as a leading power & facilities management company with over 1,000 staff, 30 years in the business & projects in over 115 countries (locations range from South Africa, the Far East, Asia & the Middle East to Central Europe, Canada & The United States).

Before that?

I previously worked as a Multimedia & Web/ Graphic Designer for clients/ company's including GT Media, QHC Consulting, the Irish Pain Society and Physio Extra. Prior to that, I worked as a Motion Graphics/ Visuals Designer & Video Editor for Sumo Multimedia, a leading Post-Production, Motion Graphics and Events Production Company in Dublin, Ireland. During my time at Sumo, I worked on projects such as visual animations, corporate videos and ident/ motion graphic designs for clients ranging from Heineken, FM104, Godskitchen and the Outdoor Media Awards (OMA's) to Spirit, the Red Box, POD and Fireworks night clubs in Dublin.

Qualifications?

Academically, I have studied the following degrees at the following universities:
BSc. Multimedia, 4-year Honours Degree @ Dublin City University.
M.A. Digital Media Technologies, 1.5-year Masters Degree @ the Dublin Institute of Technology.
